ALUMNI RETURN WITH THEIR SHOW STOPPING SINGLE "JERRY RICE"

Picture
From Long Island New York, Emo/Pop Rock ensemble “Alumni” have just released their new track “Jerry Rice.” This marks the first time Alumni has put out a song since their 2019 debut LP,  “A Little More Tragic” and imagine having a comeback as strong as this one.
This band reminds me of the works of All Time Low, Taking Back Sunday, and Yellowcard. Though a few tracks from these pop punk alumnus can be heavier both lyrically and instrumentally, Jerry Rice tends to be on the more laid back and buoyant side. This four-piece band is consistently delivering us sanguine vocals and meteoric instrumentals on this track, making sure it is to be enjoyed by senior pop punk enthusiasts and as well as newcomers.
The way I interpret the lyrics from this song is that of someone who is currently fixated on someone very important, yet preparing for the downfall of their relationship, possibly leaving them alone in their own head. Specifically with the chorus “I’ll be lonely the day you get up and leave.” is what leads me to this prediction.
Though the lyrics may be somber or hopelessly romantic, Jerry Rice has the potential to be the soundtrack to a romantic adventurous date night with someone.  It gives me the feeling of falling into a happy yet tempestuous rush and not wanting the perfect night to end.

Alumni is redefining emo and have raised the bar even higher with the release of  “Jerry Rice.” The upbeat vocals and dynamic instrumental patterns alone surely land this exuberant track on our everyday music rotations, and we expect to see the single on yours too! These New York Natives have surely shown their tremendous amount of talent and polished sound, and practically leave us begging for more. Whenever that may be, we are ready to play it on repeat at full volume.
