HIGHWIND WELCOMES US TO THE WORLD OF BASTARDIZED POP WITH THE RELEASE OF "CRASHING, BURNING"

Picture
New Jersey native Highwind is back again to release his latest single release “Crashing, Burning”; a rather bastardized cinematic masterpiece featuring Nolan McGovern and Jake Perreault of the Massachusetts Rock band The Fairview.
What better time to have released a song no better described by Chris Russo (Highwind) himself than to have written ”brutally honest music that helps people feel something”, especially in times like right now. And while Russo is always open and raw about what he has to say through his craft, “Burning, Crashing” offers another depth into his mind, as well as his work. Having the guys from The Fairview on this track gives the song a familiar yet fresh sound; something that they are known for.

LISTEN TO "CRASHING, BURNING"

The song gives us a look into a conversation held between both sides about the highs and lows, and stresses of being a public figure, and the faces of reassurance; that it’s okay to reach out for help when it’s needed. This is very much needed conversation held throughout the song. Through the facade one may put on, it’s not all that it seems to be as the guys show throughout the track. Lyrics such as “even entertainers tend lose composure” and “please turn off your camera, ‘cause I’m breaking character” and the all out dramatic second verse that forces is the listener to further use their imagery with lines like “take a seat and shut your mouth, those lights are dimming,, don’t close close your eyes, ‘cause.. wait what’s happening” and the bridge that continues to carry on the conversation in a call and response fashion; with lyrics such as “I feel tired. Am I being hard on myself" "Life is rough, and I think I need little help” and “It’s okay to lose the grip in a scenario” sometimes it plays out in a way you can’t imagine” continue to usher a sense of relief and emotion.
This solo project had its beginning in 2018 and has only become more diverse and colorful over time. “Crashing, Burning” follows that of his single “2023,” which led to a massing increase in his following and influence.

Highwind continues to push boundaries through each release put out as well as for Bastardized Pop, and Alternative music as a genre. “Crashing, Burning,” adds a new depth to the sound that Russo has already created for himself as he continues to explore and expand his sound. I hope you have enjoyed the track as much as I have, and can’t wait to see what else Highwind has up their sleeve
