MOURNING COLLECTIVE RELEASES HIS NEW SOOTHING SINGLE "TORCHES"

Picture
Punkaganda favourite, massachusetts based artist, “Mourning Collective” has blessed us once again with new chill single “Torches” teasing his continuation of the seasons inspired EP series. The one-man shoegaze artist has been featured on our website twice before, and we can never get tired of the music he puts out.
Torches begins with the beautiful dancing of the strings on a guitar, with slight distortion rolling over each strum. As the beat comes in the bass takes the spotlight as it glazes over the track following a simple rhythm from the drums. Unlike his other tracks, the vocals come in pretty quickly. The soothing vocals combined with the peaceful, yet uniquely raucous sounds of the instruments is reminiscent of Sonic Youth or Dinosaur Jr. This track creates a feeling of nostalgia, but also a feeling of want. It makes us want to go outside in the freezing cold and catch the perfect snowflake on the tip of our tongues. End up lost in the slow and have to fight the wicked winter to find our way back home, and once we find our way back; defrost and drink our favorite hot beverage.
All together, Mourning Collective remains steady in the genre and mood displayed in his music. Each track has its very own meaning and sound, but ends up on the same page as all his other works. Clashing new wave, 90s alternative, and grunge, he’s created a very own sound for himself that we’re simply obsessed with. We’re so delighted to watch this artist grow, and continue to create such magnificent songs. We have a good feeling, as always, about the rest of the EP that is to come, and can’t wait to be awestruck by all Mourning Collective has to throw at us in the future.
Mourning Collective’s next EP “Winter” is due to be released December 18th.
