RAVIVE GETS VULNERABLE IN NEW EP "TRAUMA RESPONSE"

Picture
The newest, upcoming, alt-pop solo artist, Ravive, releases their EP on April 8th titled Trauma Response. With only having a few singles previously released, this project will be the debut of Ravive’s dark yet catchy, pop fused music and the first spark of igniting their potentially very successful musical career. This EP is an autobiographical concept album, and conceived as a form of therapy for Ravive. It is literally a response to traumatic events the artist went through.
Trauma Response features seven songs about the inner darkness they faced while dealing with, and overcoming, some serious, traumatic situations. Ravive does not hold back when singing about these situations, and is beautifully honest with the specifics of what they went through. All the songs are about struggles with depression, abuse, different forms of addiction, and more. The first song is called “Built To Be Sad”,  which shows off the themes and sound of the entire EP, and lets the listener know exactly what to expect from the rest of the songs.
The standout song from the album is the second track, called “Social Shit” (the EP ends with a stripped down, quieter version of this song, as well). This song is about the dangers of digital consumption, an example of one of the addictions Ravive writes about. Once again, there are catchy pop, synth beats, but with lyrics that feel heavy along with sinister screams in the background.

There’s a dark, ghostly feel to the whole EP, even when the sound is more upbeat. The dark tones and lyrics bring an ominous vibe, but the rest of the music is fast, captivating, and could even be danced to. This eerie, electro - pop rock EP is still wonderfully melodic and fun. It’s a great start to Ravive’s musical career.
