REST EASY RETURN WITH A TESTAMENT TO THE POWER OF PUNK ROCK WITH THEIR NEW SINGLE "GET BUSY DYIN"
Described in a Youtube comment as a “skateboarding compilation song,” Rest Easy’s newest single, “Get Busy Dyin’’' is a testament to the power of punk rock. The Vancouver punk rock four-piece are gearing up to release their upcoming EP Sick Day. “Get Busy Dyin’” is the first released single from the EP- which is set to release on February 12 via Mutant League Records. Consisting of members of Shook Ones and Daggermouth, the band is not afraid to experiment with the fundamental aspects of the genre.

“Get Busy Dyin’” is the first track of the four song EP, and rightfully so. Although only being a short one minute and twenty-one second track, the lyrics and vibe of the song are strong. The band clearly knows where their strengths lie- as seen in the strong vocals and heavy guitar and drum instrumentals. The song itself is nothing short of a screamo echo, except when it changes entirely. Around the one minute mark, the note changes and it falls into a pop punk headspace. One second you’re head-banging to some screamo-vibe and the next you’re staring at the byproduct of being raised on Blink and early Green Day. The song is dynamic and covers a lot instrumentally and vocally in its short time frame.

It’s a track I’ve found myself putting on repeat multiple times, without even realizing it. It’s short- but to the point in both is very forward lyrics lead off strong instrumentals. If you’re looking for a new track to live in your head rent free, look no further than Rest Easy !
