Coasting On Potential released their ep “All That I’ve Lost” on August 28th, and I’m excited to dive in. Their single “In Misery” leading up this release only led me to believe that this EP wouldn’t disappoint. And to no avail; It has not.
This 3 track melancholy EP is a good starter kit to experience all that Coasting On Potential has to offer. Each track has its own unique sound and concept, while collaborating jointly to find their cohesive sound.

Track’s ‘In Misery’ and the title track ‘All That I’ve Lost’ reveal the more dreary, hopeless, and gloomy type themes that Coasting On Potential are no strangers to. These tracks, though still have heavy components in the instrumental aspects, drift on the more pop-punk side of the rock spectrum; having high pitched vocals and less heavy metal screaming than their track ‘Agony’. Agony is definitely on the more heavy-metal/hard rock spectrum, and comes as a surprise. It’s very different from the other two tracks. This track more so rides on the idea of anger and explicit pain and this is especially shown through less “softly” rendered vocals.
Nonetheless, this EP travels through the progression of pain, loss or heartbreak through angelic desolate melodies and rampant rage. If you need an album or EP that’ll help you through such tough times, this is the EP for you. You begin with ‘In Misery’ the track to indulge in your sadness, ‘Agony’ to get rid of the pent of rage, and finally ‘All That I’ve Lost’ to come to acceptance.
