GILT GIVE US A TANGY TASTE OF WHAT IS TO COME WITH THE PREMIERE OF THEIR ETHEREAL SINGLE "IN WINDOWS (IGNORE WHAT'S MISSING)"

Picture
Jacksonville’s up and coming Post-hardcore band GILT have once again blessed us with a beautiful re-recording of the title track of their debut album, but with a new name. This track is called ‘In Windows (Ignore What’s Missing)’ and is just a taste of what’s in store.
This reimagined track rings just as powerful as it was previously recorded, but with a fresh new perspective especially as they’ve moved Ash Stixx from drummer to lead vocalist. The mixing of the soft sounds of the piano and Ash’s bold vocals makes this sound like a completely different band.
This track particularly resonated with the symbolism of taking something that you’ve already created, and turning it into something that is in tune with your current self. GILT took this track and fine-tuned it into a track so ethereal yet corresponds with their original sound.
'In Windows (Ignore What's Missing)' is about misplaced priorities, pride, and standing in your own way. It's the start of the cycle that ends with the final EP track 'Through Mirrors', which is all about accepting painful growth. The song was originally the title track of our debut album, but after bringing our former drummer Ash Stixx up front for vocals, we realized how powerful their take on it was and how much it changed. Hansel Romero was the perfect producer to push Ash's vocal range but they also helped us get much heavier guitar tones and make the breakdown more devastating."

This single serves as a perfect preview to their next chapter. If you thought their debut album was the best thing to grace your ears, you won’t be disappointed to hear what’s coming next.
GILT’s upcoming EP 'In Windows, Through Mirrors' is out November 11.

The EP is a reimagining of the debut album's opening and closing tracks, paired with a new single to showcase the band's new heavier and more polished direction. The EP will take us on the journey of self-awareness, and opening up about grief, loss and growing through hardships.
