KELSY KARTER BECOMES VULNERABLE WITH FANS AS SHE DEBUTS HER ALBUM 'MISSING PERSON'

Picture
Kelsy Karter has once again blessed us with a new release, but this time, it’s an album, which sounds a lot like a memoir. For those who haven’t heard of Kelsy Karter, she is a rock artist that got a lot of fame for her song ‘Harry,’ and has continued to earn her fame with every song she releases.
Originally from New Zealand, the 29 year old has released many songs which all have a personality and emotion. Along with this album, she released merch, but the main focus is on her release of empty milk cartons with her face on it. Karter is definitely an artist I’d recommend to any person, especially teen girls looking for a role model, you’ll see why when you hear her empowering songs.
The album opens up with the song ‘You Only Die Once,’ a romantic ode, telling the story of not being stuck in one world, and the sense of adventure. Yet, Karter goes on to tell this story about being lost in this world, nothing pertaining to you or your will to stay. The melody of the song, along with the lyrics is a story of hopeless romantics running away to be themselves, and find themselves.
This song is followed by ‘Goodness Gracious’, which she released a music video on, is another badass anthem. In this song, Karter expresses what she feels when she finds love, the feeling of having something to look forward to and feeling love.

The next single, ‘Stick to Your Guns’ is a motivational anthem to anyone who feels like they have to change in order to fit in. Karter uses her platform to encourage her listeners to be themselves, and to not let themselves be changed by pressure.
'I’m So Mad At Him’ expresses the normality of being mad because you’re not being treated the way you deserve to be treated. Karter normalizes asking for more, and not targeting your anger at yourself, once again using her platform to be a role model for young girls everywhere.
In her song ‘Villain’, Karter expresses what it’s like to be misinterpreted in a story, she often calls herself the villain in said story. She doesn’t disapprove of this title and instead empowers others to be the bigger person in this situation, to grow from it and learn to pick what battles are worth fighting.

‘Devil On My Shoulder’ is an older song from Karter, as well as ‘Love Me or Hate Me’, ‘God Knows I’ve Tried’, ‘Catch Me if You Can’, and ‘Liquor Store on Mars’.
In ‘God Knows I’ve Tried’, which I absolutely cried to, Karter shares her vulnerability with her listeners and sings about attempting to be the person everyone wants her to be, sharing examples of who she’s wanted to be as well. The other older songs are more about empowering yourself and being the badass I know all of you are,
Karter has really made a name for herself, and this release really ossifies the sound we expect to hear from her. As we are waiting with baited breath for her next release, we can only imagine what Karter has hidden up her sleeve. We know one thing - it wont disappoint. If you have yet to check out Missing Person, I highly recommend you add it to your everyday music rotation and check out Kelsy Karter's entire discography.
