Kirby The Immortal1, coming off the highs of Baltimore’s retired “BLKVAPOR” has drop his new single “Choke” This DIY grunge track immediately became familiar with the likeness of the 90’s/2000 alt rock grunge sound. Similar to Lit’s “Miserable” with a concoction of The cranberries, deftones, and third eye blind.
The track’s ethos is a soft reminder of what brings you joy, especially in the realm of identity. The idea that it is possible to acquire self-love and joy even though the world is fighting against you, especially with the escalating queer and transphobia in our country.

“Choke is about my experience of people telling me that I won’t make it in music, and as a trans artist that I should try to fit in with what’s normal, try not to stand out too much. The message I want to get across to listeners is that they should live truthfully; don’t live for someone else and listen to that inner voice. It feels relevant to the current state of the United States, where it’s normal to overlook injustices rather than confront them as a society. I take inspiration from Rage Against the Machine in how they use unforgettable riffs like “Wake Up” to express their desire for a better country.” -- Kirby
