In the Summer, there is no lack of music events and concerts in Austin, Texas. Aptly named “the live music capital of the world”, there is never an opportunity for music lovers and enthusiasts to be bored in the city. From country music to rock and every genre in-between, Austin is the place for musical entertainment. For electronic music fans, the Parish was recently the place to be for a fun night.

Roger Sellers, who is also known by his stage name of Bayonne, finished out his most recent US tour with a sold-out hometown show here in Austin, Texas on June 28th. The tour was in support of his newest album called “Temporary Time”, which was released on May 26th under Nettwerk Music Group. Seller’s homecoming show was a celebration of not only the birthday of his latest album but the 10-year anniversary of KUTX: The Austin Music Experience as part of their birthday concert series as well.
Seller’s lit up the venue and created an inviting and exciting atmosphere during his set, which featured tracks from his newest album, such as “Right Thing” and “Perfect”, as well as fan favorites such as “Drastic Measures” and “Fallss”. Supporting him was the electronic and experimental duo by the name of mmeadows. The duo is composed of members Kristin Slipp, currently of Dirty Projectors, and Beyonce and Lorde Collaborator Cole Kamen-Green. Like Sellers, the duo creates a refreshing and original take on the electronic and experimental genres, and such a lineup created a show that was sure to instill FOMO in fans who missed out. If you missed out on the show, don’t fret. Considering the ability of Sellers to sell out one of his shows and the quality of his performances, it would be no surprise if he were to play another show here in Austin in the near future. Keep your eyes peeled and ears perked.

“Temporary Time” is the third full-length from the Austin-based artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Bayonne. The album is as beautiful as it is an act of raw introspection. Since 2016, Bayonne has continued to outdo himself with every music release, and we can only hope that this is only the beginning of his musical journey.
