Brigitte Mena was born to be a storyteller, and her vehicle is music.

I’m sure we all get excited when we hear new music and get to discover new artists and new sounds, and it’s our pleasure to introduce you all to our favorite artists. This week, we’re excited to put Dallas based singer Brigitte Mena in the spotlight who is releasing her third album on February 23rd. This album is released following her two previous albums, the first titled ‘Maslow’ released in 2018 and the second ‘Element’ released in 2020.

The new album titled After The Storm is composed of 10 songs, 3 of which are previously released singles titled ‘Equally Human’, ‘Honeybee’, and ‘Mastermind.’ The latter being the latest release, which she describes as: “a story about the modern day idea of ghosting. It’s unfiltered, bold, and everything you wish you could say to someone who up and left without any decency or explanation.” The remaining 7 unreleased songs are titled: ‘Love Again’, ‘Let Go’, ‘Sun on My Back’, ‘Unheard Letter’, ‘All That Kept Me Okay’, ‘Full Time Man’, and ‘Rainbow Bridge.

“After The Storm takes you on my personal journey of rediscovering myself and understanding love in many capacities including romantic, platonic, spiritual relationships, and even the bond with man’s best friend.”

I was excited to get to hear the album before the release and give you all my thoughts on this new album. My first thoughts as I began listening to the album all surrounded the passion that was very clearly heard throughout all her music. Brigitte Mena clearly loves what she does and she communicates with you all through this artistic medium for that reason. Throughout this album, we follow her journey of realizing there is so much more to know about life, which many of us can often relate to. In songs such as ‘Let Go we see the difficulty of letting go of things in order to grow, and in songs like ‘Love Again’ we are able to see that things will change and that it’s something we learn as we grow up. Overall, the album goes through the turmoil's of growing up and provides us with relatable songs that let us find a sense of comfort in the stages of life we feel most insecure about.

We’re excited to see more releases coming from Brigitte, and we encourage you all to go and give her new album a listen. Her third studio album ‘After the Storm’ is out now on all streaming platforms!
