Continuing to ride the wave of endless genre bending, Caco has graced the scene with their new EP “patchnotes ep 2.1 (happy/sad)”. Allan Romero, professionally known as Caco, is a contemporary jazz saxophonist who has wavered from their classic roots and began creating house party soundtracks.

Caco is an R&b vocalist, hyperpop DJ, and shoegaze rockstar. Patchnotes makes you feel like you’re clubbing on the patch of pink clouds. Beginning the collection strong with the r&b electronic concoction that is “all that i see rev 4” and moving through the record with rock songs such as “del mar county fair 2008 rev10” and “zoomer shoegaze” there’s something to be enjoyed by any music lover. We even get a hint of some hip-hop flows in records such as “dinner party (endless party) rev21” and “this way that way/ wwyhm rev15.” All qualities of the tracks reflect the integrity and passion that goes into them. Smooth vocals, with instrumentals that you probably would not think would flow together, all perfectly assembled so create unique masterpieces.

As mentioned before, the release of this record sets the precedent for where music should be and where it's going. Like a needle in a haystack, I don’t believe we’re going to get a record that is as pretty, profound, and eclectic anytime soon. Caco remains ahead of the curve.
