The Los Angeles pop-punk scene continues to grow and reach new lengths, Glass Generation is a prime example of that. The LA-based band started off in a garage and released their first album, “What Could Go Wrong?”, in June of 2022, they have since then been making strides in the music industry. To make their music, they draw from their own influences, who they credit to bands like Blink-182, Joyce Manor, and Title Fight. Having just got off their summer tour across the West Coast, they are ready to release new music, and first on their list is a new single, “Coming Clean,” accompanied with an ethereal visual.
The band makes sure to stay relatable with their new single, speaking boldly about the struggle of loss and how it affects who we are. We’ve all most likely faced a choice between losing ourselves or losing a person in our life, and regardless of whether it was our choice or not, we felt lost after the end of those relationships, that is the emotion that Glass Generation captures in this new single. However, Glass Generation adds to this by speaking to their own experience, a reflection of how they felt after, having never felt the same, and wishing they had never stayed for it after all. The song itself is a classic pop-punk melody with the unique twist of Generation Glass and comforting lyrics that make us remember it’s human to mourn, but there are things we need more than relationships that don’t help us. Their main goal as a band has always been to play honest music in their own style and this single is one of many examples of how they manage to achieve that goal.
Glass Generation has a few upcoming shows, for our readers who are interested in seeing them, they’ll be playing at The Glass House Concert Hall in Pomona on Sept. 28 with Sad Park, Yungatita, and Cheridomingo and at Stuft Pizza in San Clemente on October 12 for a benefit concert! We’re expecting a lot more from Glass Generation and will be happy to report on their future releases. Their new single is out now and available on all streaming platforms!
