Return to Dust, alternative rock band from Los Angeles, has released their debut album,  “Return to Dust.” The 11-track record encapsulates the band’s unique voice.  With echoes of 90’s grunge, blended with stoner and alternative rock, the album is reminiscent of the iconic Westcoast sound.

The first song on the album, “Black Road,” sets the tone for the rest of the record.  With crushing guitar and heavy yet stable drums, the track bursts into a sonic landscape. The blend of grunge and desert rock instrumentals is the perfect backdrop for the vocals’ powerful cry. Reminiscent of staple bands like Queens of the Stone Age and Alice in Chains, the song creates an intense feeling of strength that continues through the rest of the album.

“Live Like This” is a passionate track that stands out from the rest.  Beginning with solely guitar and vocals, the song allows you to focus on the alluring harmonies throughout it.  The steady drums and bass appear smoothly, creating a hypnotizing, rhythmic beat.  The track is a striking contrast to the rest of the hard-hitting album, with a slower tempo and melodic sound.

The record finishes with powerful song, “When You Look At Me.” Full of heavy bass lines and infectious guitar riffs, the track shows the band’s unique mix of 90’s grunge and the everchanging sound of alternative rock.  A perfect way to end the album, the song leaves you reveling in the music with a lasting word, “Goodnight.”

Return to Dust’s self-titled album is one that remains in your mind.  Creating an earworm effect on anyone who listens, the record is full of intense guitar and celestial vocals.  “Return To Dust” is available to listen to on streaming platforms now!
