SAINT JUDAS DEBUTS HIS PASSIONATE AND CALMING EP "A TERRIBLE YEAR"
As we slowly move into the second month of the year, Saint Judas gives us a reason to start the year on a high note with a new release, but who are Saint Judas? Saint Judas is a Florida-based emo pop punk solo project that was founded in October of 2017, releasing his first album ‘Sidewalks’ in November of 2018. Their most recent release, a single contributing to his latest EP, was ‘bioluminescent blood ritual’, also his current top song on Spotify. Following this most recent release, Saint Judas has planned the release of his new EP ‘a terrible year’ planned to release on January 28, 2022.

This new EP ‘a terrible year’ is composed of 5 songs, one of which was released as a single previously and our suggested beginner track. The EP opens up with ‘b i g // r i p a’, a song with a mellow rhythm that sounds calm and fun midway through the song. This song, like many on the album, is fun and calm, perfect for a live show during the summer, something I’d love to experience! This song is followed by his previously released single, which you can hear and form your opinion on. Following this single is ‘*spooky ghost noises*’, a song which caught my attention with its name, this song is truly calming and passionate, this song expresses the sadness that Wahl, singer and songwriter, was trying to portray and normalize.
"Singer/songwriter Braden Wahl wrote and recorded a terrible year in response to his recent relapse into a volatile mental state after his life was completely uprooted from moving across the country to Florida. While fighting episodes of depression and anxiety, the singer created these songs with raw honesty in hopes to show other people struggling with similar battles and that they're not alone.”
We finally reach the last two songs in the EP, the second to last being ‘like turning off the TV’, a much more upbeat song, following his same signature of calming vocals with different ranges of instrumental backgrounds. The song, which portrays a much different emotion than previously, feels like a song to dance to AND to listen to on a calm rainy day, a perfect combination for a song and a near impossible melody to accomplish. Finally, we reach the last song of this EP ‘involuntary hospitalization’, this is a wonderfully crafted sad song, and a perfect way to bring in the new year, especially with the lyric “can we just forget this terrible year”.

A new Saint Judas EP is a perfect way to start this year, and we hope you all get to hear this wonderfully composed album. We have a feeling Sant Judas will be making a name for himself this year, maybe this album will be the beginning of their rise to fame, all I know is: you’ll definitely hear about Saint Judas from us again.
