Founded on July 10, 2020, in the middle of a global pandemic by co-owners Lou and Lexi, Punkaganda Press was built with one mission: to amplify the voices of marginalized creatives. We strive to provide a platform for artists who continue to break barriers in the music world.

Our team is proudly diverse, and we remain committed to uplifting women, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC voices. Beyond representation, Punkaganda Press champions underrated musicians across genres—from pop-punk and post-hardcore to indie and everything in between. Our goal is simple: give artists the space to grow their audiences while sharing fucking incredible music with the world.

As we keep creating fresh, exciting content, we also aim to foster a safe, inclusive space where all individuals feel heard and respected.

As we continue to grow, we hope you’ll stick with us for the long haul. Punkaganda had been living rent-free in our heads for a while—born out of equal parts procrastination and “fuck it” energy. Despite the distance between us (California and Maryland), we were determined to create a publication that actually meant something. One day Lou texted Lexi: “What about something like pro-punk-propaganda?” We chopped it down, and just like that—PUNKAGANDA WAS BORN.

The name is our twist on the word “propaganda.” Instead of brainwashing people with toxic ideologies, we flip the script—upholding punk values and giving a big ‘fuck you’ to the racist, homophobic, and harmful propaganda that’s stained U.S. history. (And for the record, no—we didn’t spell ‘punk agenda’ wrong… but thanks for the joke.)
