REVIEW: Triple Threat Amber Ryan Takes The Music Scene By Storm With Release of "Fall Apart"
Los Angeles artist Amber Ryann; self proclaimed ‘triple threat’ is taking the music industry by storm. She’s a merch designer, producer, music video director, and even takes the reins on her own online platform,“Underrated Artist Season” where she puts a spotlight on underrated artists that you should have your eyes on.
In her youth, Amber discovered music as a source of comfort and found creating her own music as an opportunity to try and make sense of the world around her. Having a hip-hop producer as a father, a mother who was an avid 90’s R&B fan, and being interested in 2000’s alternative & rock — you can definitely hear a mix of genres influenced in her work. Amber’s broad taste in music and her willingness to share her inner self with complete honesty has truly set her apart from her peers as an artist
Taking a first listen to “FALL APART” I can already hear that there’s something extremely unique and refreshing about what she’s bringing to the table. First and foremost, the production of is absolutely incredible. Everything flows incredibly well and without missing a beat. The track begins with simple, yet effective, drums with faint whimsical echos of what will soon be the chorus of the song and slowly transitions into a more cohesive tracking with the addition of light airy alt-rockesque guitar riffs. There’s even a bit of synths added, making the track seem more groovy and a bit light hearted. It’s always treat to hear the dichotomy of darker lyricism against smooth and uplifting instrumentals. As mentioned earlier, its hard to miss the R&B influence in her music, however in this single specifically, her vocals take home the prize of rhythm and blues. A bit reminiscent of Aaliyah with a bit of Cassie.
Unknowingly or knowingly, Amber Ryann is bringing a fresh new twist to the 90’s r&b and alternative sound in the industry. This song isn’t like other music I’ve heard in the mainstream in a very long time. With her only creating solo music since 2017, I see a very promising and bright career ahead of her and can’t wait until she releases her next track.
