“Ruin Your Life”: Jenny Palacios’ New Anthem for the Overthinkers

For fans of artists like Remi Wolf and The Maine, we have new music to put on your radar. If you haven’t had the pleasure of being introduced to Jenny Palacios, the Toronto-based artist who is making versatile alternative pop music, then you’re in luck!

Jenny Palacios is an artist in many ways, her hands-on approach to releasing new music is expressed in every aspect of the release. With a background in art direction and graphic design, Palacios creates the visual world around her work to share with excited fans, like us! Previous releases like “Who Couldn’t Love You?” and “IYKYK” are emotional, lively, and SO relatable to the overthinkers out there.. “Ruin Your Life” is no different!

While previous releases have been a lot more about hurt and confusion, I would argue that “Ruin Your Life” holds confusion and adds anger. This is a song about overthinking, wanting to be “out of your mind” but also begging to get out of the social scene. In “Ruin Your Life,” Palacios describes the common experience of being out to distract yourself and ending up thinking even more about why you’re there. This is angry girl music at its core, it is an experience that drives you insane put into a single that you can dance to or listen to in the middle of the night.

This year has been exciting for Palacios, including the release of “Who Couldn’t Love You?” and a Vans Warped Tour performance. I know for a fact I’m very excited to see what Jenny Palacios does next and I hope you are as well! Her new single, “Ruin Your Life,” was released on August 20th, go give it a listen!
