LEISURE HOUR ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE “JOBS” AHEAD OF FORTHCOMING DEBUT STUDIO LP ‘...AND TO THINK’
Midwest emo trio Leisure Hour have had quite the year. Their explosive rise to the top is not meritless; rather, the group have poured their soul into their music, and fans have taken notice organically. Upon signing to Counter Intuitive Records, Leisure Hour doubled down on their newfound success with the release of “Jobs,” the lead single to their debut LP, …and to think.
Sonically, Leisure Hour offers the same catharsis fans found in bands like Modern Baseball. Curating a balance between high energy and emotional intelligence, Leisure Hour’s music effortlessly transitions listeners into a new phase for the subgenre.
Lyrically, “Jobs” may be pessimistic, but not without reason. Instead, the band complain about their current situation while acknowledging that there is more to life than dreary routines or dead-end jobs.
In a world full of “AI art for grandma,” Leisure Hour encourage their listeners to pursue their creative ambitions, especially within a societal structure that discourages doing so.
